In past couple of years Dwarka property market has seen tremendous growth. With the inception of metro line in Dwarka, the city is easily accessible from prime locations of Delhi and now with extension of Delhi metro line to Noida people are enjoying close proximity to Delhi-NCR region. The total occupancy rate has also increased in the city as earlier it was quite easy to find flats in the city. But now with more people moving to Dwarka, property prices have increased due to scarcity of residential property. There are total 29 sectors in Dwarka with each sector of about 81 hectare in size. These days, sector-16a and 17a are emerging as hot areas and these sectors are soon expected to come with many new universities and colleges. The city has already housed a premier engineering college i.e. Delhi College of engineering, so not only working professionals but students are also looking for accommodation here.
Dwarka has not only seen boost in residential property sales in the last few years but prices of commercial space have also skyrocketed. Till now, the commercial hub in Dwarka was at sector-6 and sector-10 but now areas like Ashirwad chowk are coming up and the city is witnessing major retail boom. Also according to a report, commercial area of the city will be developed around Metro Railway line (MRTS) in linear form.
Amongst other upcoming projects in Dwarka are seven sports complexes out of which one is functional, Exhibition and Convention Center at secotor-24 by DLF, several five star hotels and seven hotels are also expected to come up before 2010 common wealth games, diplomatic enclave will house embassies of at least 39 nations. Apart from that, DDA (Delhi development authority) will come up with around 900 flats in Dwarka. According to a report, number of new technologies will be used in this mega housing project and for these 900 flats, 40,000 registrations have already been made.
